Article Transcription

This post-con issue marks the second year in a row that I have not made it to the annual convention. It looked like a great time was had by all, and the venue really looked gorgeous. I was too busy recuperating from my wedding and honeymoon to make it. When you are pretty much self-employed and take a three-week vacation, there is a time when you have to get back to work. But such is life. First off, let’s give a warm welcome to our new president, Nolan Harris. Nolan is no stranger to ISCA, having served as vice president last year, and being a member for several years. During his short time on the board he has instituted a few changes that are sure to help our organization grow and be a continued success. He currently resides in Seattle, and of this writing he is planning his upcoming wedding and running a successful caricature business. Also a big welcome to new board members Jon Casey and Chris Moore. Both of these fine artists have also been active members for several years, and having them on the board seems like a logical next step for them both. Matt Zitman joins the board for a second year to continue with ISCA’s success. I look forward to working with this new lineup.

IN THIS ISSUE Starting on page 4, see all of the award-winning artwork. Congratulations to all the winners! Also, I would like to give a big shout out to Brian Vasilik for not only taking the photos but for labeling and sending me the exact files I needed. Thank you for your organizational skills! In addition to the convention recap, we have a couple of how-to articles from Kamal Dollah of Singapore and Michael White of Sarasota, Florida. Both Kamal and Michael are repeat contributors for the EF. But I hope to also hear from some of those who have never contributed. If you have an idea of something you would like to see in the coming issues, don’t be shy! Plus your contribution could net you an Apple gift card at the next convention. Congrats to the most recent winner, Ali Thome! Well that’s enough from me. If you want to get in touch with me, or any of the board members, please note the new email addresses listed on this spread. Hope you enjoy this issue!
