Hello again and welcome to another issue of Exaggerated Features. It has been a few months since the convention, but for those of you who attended, we have quite a few memories in this issue. And for those who could not make it, it is a chance to see some of what you missed.
First off, congratulations to all the award winners at the convention. I wasn’t able to make it this year, but thanks to Robert Bauer doing a live stream on Facebook, I was able to watch the auction and award ceremony in real time. It looked like everyone had a great time. Bet the food was good, too! Though I am not too sure about the peanut butter and banana sandwiches that the hotel offered throughout the week.
We also welcome a couple of new additions to the board of directors and a new president, Tom Faraci. Tom has a lot of great ideas on where this organization is headed, so be sure to read his letter starting on page 2. There also are changes coming to the membership tiers, which can be found on page 27. Hopefully, this will make things a little less complicated for everyone. The members have spoken and as you will see, the board has responded!
As usual, the Post-Convention issue always contains lots of artwork and photos of the winners, and this year is no exception. Thanks to Tom Brennan again for being our photographer in my stead. Look for these photos in a Facebook album soon. We also have a couple of convention-related interviews: one with our Golden Nosey winner, Sebastian Martin, and one with our Studio Piece winner, Don Pinsent. And new for this year, we have pictures of all the wonderful pieces that were in the auction.
Just a reminder that the next two issues will be PDFs only. We will resume the printed edition with the Pre-Convention issue in October.
Use this issue as your guidebook for the next convention, as you chart your map to greatness, or at least plan your way to Las Vegas in November.
