Article Transcript

Greetings, ISCA! Who’s excited for ISCAcon 28 in Memphis! In just over a month we’ll be gathering for the most inspirational week of the year! We’re excited to announce a few new categories to the voting this year! In addition to our previous categories, we’ll be adding the following: Outstanding Digital Technique, Outstanding Traditional Technique, Most Innovative, and Outstanding Minimalist Style. We’ve got a great roster of registered members attending and guest speakers, including Guest of Honor Valentin Chibrit, and I can’t wait to see everyone there!

This will be my final convention on the board, and looking back, it’s hard to believe that out of the seven conventions I’ve attended since 2012, I’ve been on the board for five of them! It’s been an honor to serve our great organization for so many years, and give back to the organization that’s given so much to me and my family. Thank you to Chris Galvin for reaching out to me and nominating me for a position on the board back in 2014, and it’s been great to be a part of the board with people who are now lifelong friends like Nolan Harris, Matt Zitman, Tom Faraci, CeCe Holt and so many more.

I also want to take a moment and thank my current board members, Ben Bloss, Erik Roadfeldt, Manny Avetisyan, our Business Manager CeCe Holt, and my Vice President Tom Faraci. As I’ve been expanding my businesses into haunted houses and escape rooms, and Kira and I have been expanding our family, these individuals, and especially Tom and CeCe, have been integral in helping me balance my responsibilities with ISCA as well as my many other endeavors.

And of course, thank you to my wife, Kira, who’s not only an amazing artist, but an amazing mom as well. She keeps everything running smoothly and has supported me in all the craziness. Without her, I wouldn’t have the strength to juggle so many tasks.

I’d also like to thank all of you, for entrusting me with the responsibilities of this great organization, a responsibility that I have not taken lightly. I’ve loved working behind the scenes and planning these conventions for the last 4-5 years, and I’m excited about the direction that ISCA is going in and the future of our organization.

Thank you all!
