Greetings, ISCA!
It’s with great excitement that I’m writing my first Letter from the Prez. It’s an honor to be entrusted with the reigns of our organization, and to follow in the footsteps of my friends and colleagues Matt and Nolan as ISCA’s President. I’m excited to get to work on 2018 with my fellow board members: Treasurer Tom Faraci, VP Cory Lally, and welcome aboard our new secretary, A.J. Jensen. And a HUGE THANKS to our manager, CeCe Holt, who makes all of this run so smoothly and our editor, Debbie Burmeister, for all her efforts on putting together a great Exaggerated Features.
We had another great con this year in Orlando, and it was great to see and catch up with so many of you. We welcomed Glenn Ferguson into the ISCA Hall of Fame. It was awesome to see Glenn walking around the ballroom all week with Gracie and JoAnn. We also crowned a new Golden Nosey winner, Manny Avetisyan. Be sure to check out Cory Lally’s interview with him in this issue, as well as work from all the award winners of ISCACon 26. We’re excited with all the great things 2018 has to offer. We’re constantly looking for new ways to bring you guys more content. We’ll be seeing the return of the Exaggerated Features podcast hosted by Cory and new videos and tutorials for ISCA’s YouTube channel. We’re also working on a blog that will feature new content as well as highlight some of the “best of” articles from past EFs. And we still have the ongoing Monthly Workshop and Bi-Monthly Contest on Facebook, so be sure to check those out.
As most of you have already heard, we’re happy to announce the location of our 2018 Convention, SAN DIEGO!! Getting a con in San Diego has been a goal since I joined the board back in 2014, and after 3 years of behind-the-scenes effort, we were finally able to make it happen! We’ll be staying at the beautiful Town & Country Resort, within walking distance of the Fashion Valley shopping mall and a short light-rail trolley ride from many area destinations. We’re already hard at work on ISCACon 27, and have already locked in some great guest speakers and seminars for 2018. Stay tuned as we’ll be announcing a great lineup of guests as we lead up to San Diego. Hope to see you all there!!
